Repair & calibration of UA 6176

A classic tube microphone preamp and 1176LN compressor in a single unit, UA 6176 was on our table for some small repair and calibration / alignment.

Analog tube sound

The warm, smooth tones of this mic preamp design — employed to record everyone from Frank Sinatra to Van Halen — and the unique characteristics of the compressor, are two major reasons why the 6176 is found in studios around the world. Like all analog audio equipment, this unit need some care after some time of use, bias adjusting, level adjusting, general service checkup. After some time spend with unit, this one will work long time without any problem.
